Beyond Research

Research matters deeply to me, but it is not the whole of my life. Away from papers and models, I make time for motorcycles, photography, music, and the small domestic dramas staged by my cats.

I am always glad to hear from prospective coauthors. I may be even more delighted, though, to hear from people who would like to go for a ride or make photographs together. I have been riding motorcycles for 11 years, and these days I ride a Kawasaki Z900RS and a Surron Ultra Bee. In earlier chapters, I owned a Ducati Hypermotard, Honda CB1100, Suzuki DR-Z400, and Yamaha MT-09.

Photography is the slower side of that same curiosity. I am especially drawn to medium- and large-format film, where waiting, uncertainty, and careful attention are part of the pleasure. If any of this sounds like your kind of afternoon, please get in touch.
